Neil R. Hall is co-founder and Chief Instructor of London Chinatown TaeKwonDo, which began in Chinatown in 2005 and came here in 2008, quickly growing to become the area's biggest martial arts school, with hundreds of students and a clutch of British and UK Open Champions. It all began when his then day jobs as Head of External Relations for the Mayor of London, and being responsible for renewing London's West End, brought together his love of martial arts with his passionate support for Chinatown, and in particular the London Chinese Community Centre. The passion gave birth to a martial arts class at the Community Centre, which in five years has grown a hundred fold, and has become famous not just for its competitive successes, but for its imaginative teaching, its family-friendly approach, and its championing of women and girls in martial arts. In 2010, LCTKD introduced a new martial art for older students, called Ensodo, which has been keenly followed by martial artists around the world, and next year will see the launch of the Ensodo Institute. Like many leading martial artists, Neil is an accomplished dancer. He's even been known to teach his martial arts students how to dance, as he says it helps their movement!
